Astilleros Canarios S.A. (Astican) is a privately owned ship repair yard whose well experienced staff and subcontractors provide the capabilities to perform repairs, maintenance and conversions on all types of vessels, structures, marine renewable energy devices and offshore units. The yard is located in the Port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) just off the North West coast of Africa. Due to this special geographical situation the Canary Islands enjoy an average year round temperature of 21º C with a very low amount of rainfall. This advantage makes it easy to perform our countless tasks at any given time. The dry-docking system is a versatile Syncrolift platform with a lifting capacity for vessels up to 36,000 DWT. ASTICAN drydock an average of 200 vessels a year and is able to attend repair requirements at very short notice. The yard is equipped with special workshops to cover all specific requirements. It has 1000 m of piers with a special location for oil rigs, with certified and tested bollards and proper drafts.
