Richard O'Brien

Richard O'Brien has extensive experience in education and communications, currently serving as a Tutor and Mentor at The Astley Cooper School since June 2019, and in a similar role at Astley Cooper School since April 2018, focusing on guiding young individuals towards apprenticeships. Prior to this, Richard held the position of Video Presenter and Communications Manager at the Institute of the Motor Industry from April 2014 to April 2018, where the objective was to promote skills and professional development in the motor industry. Previous roles include Head of PR at DBS Law, Director of Communications at Amicus the Union, and Head of Campaigns and Communications at the Manufacturing, Science and Finance Union. Richard began his career as a Research/PR Officer at the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union and worked as a Stock Controller and union representative at Harrods. Richard's education includes a BA in Economics from the University of Kent and a Diploma in Social Science from Rusking College, Oxford.
