Ben Michell

Ben Michell is an experienced engineer in the motorsport industry, currently serving as Head of Performance Optimisation for Aston Martin F1 Team since July 2020, with prior roles including Race Engineer and Senior Performance Engineer. Previously, Ben worked at Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 Team from January 2015 to June 2020, where responsibilities included Race Engineer and Performance Engineer. Earlier experience includes positions at Caterham F1 Team as Performance Engineer and Trackside Tyre Engineer, and at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as Race and Development Engineer. Notably, Ben led the BMW E92 M3 GTE tyre programme from 2009 to 2012 while contributing to various high-level motorsport programmes in the Dunlop Motorsport division. Initial experience includes a brief tenure as a Math Modelling Engineer at AgustaWestland. Ben holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham and a diploma from the MIA Winter School of Race Engineering.
