Prabhakar Shanmugam,P.Eng., MBA, PMP, CHSC

Prabhakar Shanmugam, P.Eng., MBA, PMP, CHSC has over 30 years of work experience in various industries. Prabhakar started their career in 1991 in manufacturing companies in Canada and Asia, where they held a series of senior quality and supply chain management positions. In 2008, they joined Suncor Energy as a Project Supply Chain Quality Manager/MOC Lead in Alberta, Canada. Prabhakar was responsible for leading and managing an effective SCM quality management system, leading SCM quality management of third party service providers, and providing strategic leadership on Process Safety Management. In 2011, they moved to Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures as a Sr. Business Partner - Compliance and Quality, where they led the company in process safety management and quality assurance on a corporate level, formulated and strategically designed new systems and procedures, and introduced change management systems, business process management and collaborative tools. In 2015, they joined Enbridge Pipelines as a Senior Quality Assurance Professional, where they provided strategic leadership to the company's quality, process/programs and project management area, built systems and formulated processes for continuous improvement, and coached, mentored and supported lean thinking and behaviors to promote a continuous improvement culture. Currently, they are a Senior Project Manager/Sr Business Consultant at Astra Canyon Group LLC, where they provide solutions for business processes in productivity, efficiency improvements and imparts training, achieves operational efficiency and high return on investment in ERP applications, and implements proven methodology for various business processes to help ensure customers achieve their goals on time and on budget.

Prabhakar Shanmugam, P.Eng., MBA, PMP, CHSC, has an extensive educational background. Prabhakar obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Anna University, followed by an Executive MBA and a GDM from Athabasca University between 2008 and 2011. Prabhakar also has certifications from McGill University in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Enterprise, CSSE in Certified Health and Safety Consultancy, IFS in IFS Certified Sr Consultant, NACE International in NACE Level 1, The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in P.Eng., Project Management Institute in PMP Certification, and Prosci in Prosci Certified Change Management. Additionally, they have completed a course in Exercising Leadership: Foundational Principles from Harvard University.
