James Martin has over 20 years of senior to executive leadership experience in both corporate and operational finance. Mr. Martin has been involved in all aspects of corporate finance, operational execution and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, Mr. Martin led Global M&A for Allegis Group, Inc., a $12 billion privately held staffing and solutions company where he was responsible for strategic investments, joint-ventures, strategic alliances and M&A integration. Prior to Allegis, Mr. Martin held lead corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions roles with a multi-billion dollar internationally focused private equity backed education services company, Laureate Education, Inc. (LAUR) (2009-2013). He also served as the chief financial officer for a telecom start-up, TV Gateway (2004-2008), where during that time, he along with the CEO were responsible for raising over $35 million for organic growth initiatives and strategic investments. The company was sold to a major MSO in 2008. In his role as senior manager with Microsoft’s Corporate Strategy group (2002-2004), he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions deal review and business transformation. Mr. Martin began his career in public accounting, spending three years in audit and six years in mergers and acquisitions advisory. Mr. Martin is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland (inactive) and received a BS in Accounting from Howard University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
