Toar Sumakul

Toar Sumakul is a seasoned educator and researcher with extensive experience in teaching and language training. Currently serving as the Director for Cooperation and a Lecturer at Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana since 2012, Toar also co-founded and serves as Secretary for iTELL, specializing in technology-enhanced language learning. In addition, a part-time Teacher Trainer for the British Council and PT Astra International Tbk, Toar focuses on teacher training in remote areas of Indonesia. With a role as an official vendor translator for The World Bank, Toar translates various documents between Indonesian and English. Previous positions include Head of the Centre for Language and Literature Studies at UKSW and multiple roles at the Satya Wacana School of Foreign Languages. Toar holds a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from the University of Liverpool and a Sarjana Pendidikan in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana.
