Sherif Afifi

Sherif Afifi is currently the Group Chief Compliance Officer at Astra Tech, overseeing compliance for Botim, PayBy, and CashNow since March 2024. Prior to this role, Sherif served as the Group Head of Compliance and Risk Governance at Pyypl from October 2022 to March 2024. Sherif also held the position of Group Chief Compliance & Risk Officer and MLRO approved by the Central Bank of Kuwait at One Global from August 2020 to October 2022, and was the Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO approved by the Central Bank of Bahrain during the same tenure. Earlier experiences include Directorship at MGI GRC, Head of Compliance Risk and Assurance at KIB, and various roles at the National Bank of Kuwait including Group Compliance and Regulatory Manager. Sherif holds a Diploma of Education in Digital Transformation Consulting from the Manchester Innovation & Technology Academy and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ain Shams University.
