Carl Whatling is a Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca, focusing on translational sciences within early cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic disease. Previously, Carl held various positions at AstraZeneca R&D, including Associate Principal Scientist in bioscience and molecular pharmacology. Carl also completed a BHF post-doctoral fellowship at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford and served as a Visiting Scientist at Karolinska Institutet. Carl earned a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Leeds and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Birmingham.
