Gerben Bouma is currently the Director of Precision Medicine Discovery & Development at AstraZeneca, where they leverage their immunological and translational expertise to facilitate the development of novel therapeutics. Gerben previously held various roles at GSK, including Clinical Biomarker Lead, where they played a key role in developing biomarker strategies for early clinical assets. They earned a PhD in Immunology from Erasmus University Rotterdam after obtaining an MSc in Medical Biology from Utrecht University. Earlier in their career, Gerben served as a Senior Research Associate at University College London, investigating immune cell functions related to immunodeficiency and autoimmunity.
