Ian Misner

Ian Misner, Ph.D., is an accomplished director of product management at AstraZeneca, specializing in genomics since August 2020. Previously, Ian served as a program facilitator at Biocomx, contributing to the RADx initiative for rapid Covid-19 testing from May 2020 to March 2023. Ian's background includes roles as a project lead and program lead at Personal Genome Diagnostics, managing complex next-generation sequencing oncology assay projects. As a computational genomics expert at the National Institutes of Health, Ian supported microbiome software development and data analysis. Ian launched the Bioinformatics Core Facility at the University of Maryland and conducted research as a postdoctoral researcher at Towson University. The academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Genome Sciences/Genomics from the University of Rhode Island and a Master's in Evolutionary Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
