Karthick Vishwanathan is an experienced clinical pharmacologist currently serving as Executive Director and Group Director at AstraZeneca since January 2014, focusing on the design and conduct of First Time in Human (FTIM) studies for oncology compounds. Prior to this role, Karthick held positions at AstraZeneca R&D from March 2010 to December 2013 as Biotransformation Team Lead and Principal Scientist, where responsibilities included managing DMPK sections of regulatory documents and coordinating late-stage development activities. Previous experience includes a tenure as Principal Scientist at Pfizer, supporting neuroscience and tissue repair programs, and as Principal Research Scientist at Wyeth and Senior Research Chemist at Merck Research Labs, both providing drug metabolism support for medicinal chemistry. Karthick earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
