Marcel van Rijn

Marcel van Rijn has extensive experience in financial management across various industries. Beginning a career as an Assistant Project Control at McDermott International, Ltd in 1991, Marcel progressed through roles such as Assistant Administrator at Fugro and Senior Administrator at VNO-NCW, where significant contributions included the merger and setup of a new financial administration system. At VVD, Marcel served as Financieel Controller, managing high-volume invoicing and credit control. From 2007 to 2021, Marcel held the position of Head of Financial Administration at Gunvor Energy Rotterdam, overseeing a team of financial and business controllers and coordinating departmental efforts for balanced scorecard development. Currently, as Holding Controller at AstraZeneca, Marcel manages IFRS reporting, corporate sustainability initiatives, and complex financial processes involving subsidiary transactions. Marcel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from LOI.
