Raghavan Venkat is a seasoned leader in biopharmaceutical development, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Biopharmaceutical Development at AstraZeneca since April 2019. In this role, Raghavan leads the Global Biologics CMC Development Organization, overseeing the pharmaceutical development of AstraZeneca's biologics products and novel modalities such as cell and gene therapy. Prior to this, Raghavan held various leadership positions at MedImmune, including Vice President of Biopharmaceutical Development and Senior Director of Cell Culture and Fermentation Sciences. Additional experience includes heading cell culture and fermentation development at Eli Lilly and serving as Senior Technology Manager at GSK. Raghavan holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University and a business degree from The Wharton School.
