Richard Hather

Richard Hather is an experienced professional in laboratory systems and data management, currently serving as Associate Director Laboratory Systems and Data at AstraZeneca since April 2025. Richard focuses on developing the 'Lab of the future,' emphasizing the capture and provision of experimental data for various reuse cases through ontologies and knowledge graphs. Prior to this role, Richard worked as a Consultant at Curlew Consultancy, where responsibilities included gathering user requirements for experiment capture. As a Principal Consultant at Zifo, Richard designed and implemented data strategies for transforming early phase discovery. From June 2015 to May 2024, Richard held multiple positions at GSK, including Principal Product Owner and Director for Registration and Data Reuse, enhancing registration solutions for R&D and securing funding for new systems. Additionally, Richard led the electronic Experiment Capture Centre and the eLNB Competency Centre at IMS Health as Senior Project Manager.
