Rob Menzies

Rob Menzies is a Senior Director at AstraZeneca since August 2019, previously serving as Associate Director and Scientific Lead for the CKD Early Stage Portfolio. In this role, responsibilities have included line management of lab-based scientists, project leadership, and serving as a member of the renal bioscience leadership team and Research Board for early Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism initiatives. Rob has led cross-functional assessments of new renal drug targets and contributed significantly to early preclinical projects. Prior to AstraZeneca, Rob was a Principal Investigator at The University of Edinburgh, managing funded research projects and leading teams. Earlier career experiences include a postdoctoral research fellowship at The University of Edinburgh and a visiting scholar position at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Rob holds a PhD in Pressure-flow relationships in experimental hypertension, an MSc in Cardiovascular Science, and a Master of Physics degree, all from The University of Edinburgh.
