Sarosh Effendi

Sarosh Effendi is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Executive Director and Head of External R&D Global Academic Alliances at AstraZeneca since May 2022. In this role, Sarosh leads a team focused on developing global academic partnerships that enhance R&D initiatives, particularly in oncology and translational medicine. Prior to this, Sarosh held several senior positions at AstraZeneca, including shaping external R&D strategies and managing global portfolios. Experience also includes leadership roles at Rocket Pharmaceuticals in gene therapy program management, Hutchison MediPharma in oncology, and Bristol-Myers Squibb in immuno-oncology. Sarosh spent a significant period at Celgene managing various aspects of program and portfolio management. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Rutgers Business School and postgraduate courses in Clinical Pharmacology from Tufts University School of Medicine.
