Vian Azzu

Vian Azzu serves as the Executive Medical Director at AstraZeneca since March 2022, leading the Translational Science & Early Clinical Development Metabolism Team, and previously held the position of Senior Medical Director, focusing on hepatology and metabolism with extensive cross-functional leadership in clinical development. Concurrently, Vian Azzu contributes as an Honorary Hepatology Consultant and Academic Hepatology Consultant at the NHS, specializing in metabolic-associated fatty liver disease and its comorbidities, and has held several academic roles at the University of Cambridge, including Clinical Lecturer in Hepatology and Director of Studies in Medicine. Vian Azzu's educational background includes a PhD in Biochemistry and an MPhil in Translational Medicine & Therapeutics, both from the University of Cambridge.
