Ziyang Zhan

Ziyang Zhan currently serves as a Project Engineer at ASTRI - Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute since November 2023. Previously, Ziyang contributed as a Researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign within the Forward Data Lab, focusing on the Next Generation Search Engine project from January to August 2023. Prior roles include Research Associate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where Ziyang developed the AI-based platform 'TOURMETER,' and Research Assistant, engaged in designing a data scraping system and training deep learning models. Ziyang also has experience as an Academic Tutor at the University of South Carolina, aiding students in Quantitative Methods, and worked as a Sustainability Consultant at McCutchen House, implementing recycling initiatives that led to significant operational savings. Ziyang holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of South Carolina.
