Juan Fernández García

Hydrogen Technology Director at ATA Renewables

Juan Fernández García has extensive work experience in the field of hydrogen technology and renewable energy. Juan'scurrent role is as the Hydrogen Technology Director at ATA Renewables, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Abengoa Innovaciόn from 2016 to 2022, where they held two roles: Technical Director of AIP Project from 2019 to 2022, and Business Development Hydrogen from 2016 to 2019. Before that, they worked at Abengoa Hidrógeno as the Technical Director of Procyon Project from 2012 to 2015. Juan's early career included roles at Zero Emissions Technologies, S.A., where they served as the R&D Director from 2010 to 2012 and as the R&D Project Manager from 2009 to 2010.

Juan Fernández García's education history begins in 1996 when they enrolled at the Universidad de Sevilla to study physics. Juan completed their undergraduate degree in physics at Edinburgh Napier University in 2001, specializing in applied physics with computing. From 2001 to 2002, they pursued a Master of Science degree in computational physics at The University of Salford. Following the completion of their master's degree, Juan continued their education at The University of Salford, where they obtained a Ph.D. in materials characterization and modeling, with a particular focus on hydrogen adsorption in carbon nanotubes. Juan'sresearch involved simulations and neutron scattering. This Ph.D. program spanned from 2002 to 2008.
