Founded in 2018 as an astronomy outreach platform, AstronEra has evolved into India’s leading organisation working at the intersection of science, policy, sustainability, and tourism.

Today, AstronEra serves as a technical and strategic partner to government bodies, designing frameworks that reduce light pollution, protect biodiversity, and unlock sustainable astrotourism economies.

Our work spans:

• Dark sky policy design and implementation

• International standard integration (with global dark sky frameworks)

AstronEra has led:

• India’s first International Dark Sky Preservation & Astrotourism Conference (2023)
• State-level dark sky policy development in Maharashtra
• Identification and development of 11+ pilot dark sky sites
• Capacity building across communities, institutions, and government systems
