Jason Forshaw has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry, starting as a Software Engineer at BAE Systems in 2004. Jason then moved on to Rolls-Royce as a Control and Systems Engineer in 2006, followed by roles at QinetiQ as an Aerospace and Controls Researcher from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Surrey Space Centre as a Research Fellow, working on various projects related to spacecraft and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC). Jason transitioned to Astroscale in 2017, where they held roles such as European R&D Manager, Head of Future Business in Europe, and Head of Business Development & Product Strategy. Throughout their career, they have led multiple projects, managed consortiums, and collaborated with international partners in the space industry.
Jason Forshaw obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University in 2010. Jason then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Surrey, completing their studies in 2013. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Sheffield in 2008 and also pursued another MEng in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2007. Currently, they are enrolled in an Executive MBA program at Henley Business School, with an expected end year of completion not specified. Additional certifications include APMP Certified Project Management Associate (IPMA Level D) from APM & IPMA, and Chartered Engineer, CEng from the Engineering Council via IET.
