Mary Cain has a diverse work experience in the sports industry. Mary began their career as a professional runner for USA Track & Field, competing in national and international racing circuits in middle-distance events. During this time, they achieved personal records in the 800m and 1500m events. Following their professional running career, Mary worked as a coach at Mile High Run Club, where they provided guidance and support to athletes. Mary then joined Tracksmith as the NYC Community Manager, responsible for managing and building relationships within the running community. Mary also worked as a Virtual Coach at New York Road Runners, providing coaching services remotely. Currently, they serve as the Founder and CEO of Atalanta NY, an organization focused on empowering the next generation of girls in underserved communities through running. In this role, Mary mentors and manages athlete-employees while expanding and nourishing the organization's mission.
Mary Cain attended Bronxville High School from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained their High School Diploma. From 2015 to 2019, they pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration at Fordham Gabelli School of Business. In addition to their formal education, Mary also obtained two certifications: Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in June 2023 and Safesport Certified from the U.S. Center for SafeSport in February 2023.
