Matthew Rook

Scientist I at Atalanta Therapeutics

Matthew worked for 5 years in academic research specializing in neurotransmitter-gated ion channels, studying under Dr. David MacLean at the University of Rochester. His Ph.D. thesis centers around the biophysical characterization of acid-sensing ion channel gating mechanisms through patch clamp electrophysiology and genetic code expansion techniques. Matthew obtained his B.S. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from SUNY University at Buffalo and his M.S. in Physiology from the University of Rochester. In the coming months, he will obtain his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester Medical Center.
