Christopher Bennett has held multiple positions in the field of scientific research. From December 2016 to January 2022, they worked at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In this role, they focused on identifying pharmacological approaches to mitigate cellular damage from mitochondrial disease mutations and boost mitochondrial function. Christopher developed a protein-protein interaction biosensor and completed a high-throughput chemical screen to uncover novel modulators of mitochondrial respiratory supercomplex assembly and bioenergetics. This led to the discovery of a targetable phospholipid synthesis pathway important for cancer cell growth and proliferation in the presence of chemotherapeutics. Since January 2022, Christopher has been working as a Senior Scientist at Atavistik Bio.
Christopher Bennett completed their education in a chronological manner. Christopher first pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from McGill University from 2006 to 2010. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the University of Washington from 2010 to 2016, where they attained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
