Hongling Yuan has a diverse work experience in the field of biochemistry and pharmaceutical research. They have held various roles at different companies.
Starting from their most recent position, Yuan currently works as a Principal Scientist at Atavistik Bio, a role they have held since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist II at Tango Therapeutics from April 2020 to December 2021.
Yuan also worked at KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. as a Senior Scientist from April 2018 to March 2020. Before that, they gained experience as a Scientist at Agios Pharmaceuticals. In this role, they were involved in developing biochemical assays and conducting characterization studies related to small molecule chemical matter in rare genetic disorders of metabolism and metabolic immuno-oncology. They also managed outsourcing of routine assays performed by external CROs.
Before transitioning to industry positions, Yuan worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from October 2011 to April 2016. Their work involved studying the mechanism and anticancer activity of saporin-L3, as well as developing inhibitors and delivery methods for cancer cells.
Lastly, Yuan started their career as a QC Microbiologist at Wuxi Jida pharmaceutical Co., LTD in June 2006.
Throughout their work experience, Yuan has demonstrated expertise in biochemistry, enzymology, assay development, and research in the field of pharmaceuticals.
Hongling Yuan completed their education in a sequential order. Hongling began their academic journey in 1999 at Hefei University of Technology, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Engineering from the School of Food Science and Engineering. This program lasted for four years, until their graduation in 2003.
Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at Jiangnan University from 2003 to 2006. During this period, they obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology with a focus on Microbiology and Biopharmaceutical.
After completing their Master's degree, Hongling Yuan pursued a doctoral degree at Georgia State University from 2006 to 2011. Hongling successfully obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry.
Throughout their educational journey, Hongling Yuan gained expertise in various disciplines, including food science, engineering, microbiology, biopharmaceuticals, and biochemistry.
