Tara Lockyer

As the Chief People Officer, Tara oversees ATB’s human resources and team member programs, change management, and internal communications. With a significant tenure in the banking and insurance industries, Tara brings a wealth of leadership experience in human resources and talent development to the People & Culture team at ATB.

Prior to joining ATB, Tara was the Global Head of Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness for Manulife where she was responsible for developing and overseeing initiatives such as global HR practices, learning, culture, change management and employee experience. Before her decade at Manulife, she was the Head of Enterprise Business Engagement and Implementation for Global HR at CIBC. Working alongside senior HR leaders and business executives, she helped design and implement integrated global solutions in the areas of risk mitigation, onboarding, and leadership and management development. She also provided specialized support in the creation of change management and development strategies for complex business transformation initiatives in the divisions of investment banking, technology and risk management.

An adventurer at heart, Tara’s career has taken her from eastern Canada to Asia, and now brings her and her family to Alberta. Tara is excited about the journey ATB is on and where it’s going, and believes that People & Culture can play a big role in that journey.

Tara holds a B.A. in business communications from the University of Windsor, a diploma in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier, and a designation as a Certified Insurance Professional from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
