Joakim Kargaard

Joakim Kargaard serves as the Director of Security at Atea Managed Services, overseeing a Cyber Security team that delivers Security Operations Center and Managed Endpoint Security services. Previously, Joakim held various roles at Atea Global Services, including SOC Manager and Service Owner, focusing on the operational development of the SOC+ service. A significant portion of Joakim's career was spent at Noroff, where roles ranged from Chief Consultant and Pen Tester to Head of Edtech & Content Production, responsible for course development in network and IT security. Joakim's earlier experience includes Systems Administrator positions at Bluecube Systems and Hetzner (Pty) Ltd, along with foundational roles in data center management and support. Joakim's educational background includes an Executive MBA from the University of Agder, a Master's in Computer Security from Leeds Beckett University, and a B.Sc. in Conservation Ecology from Stellenbosch University.
