Ali Ismailoglu

Director, Marketing - Biologics at ATEC Spine

Ali Ismailoglu's work experience begins with their current role as the Director of Marketing - Biologics at Alphatec Spine, which they started in April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Surgalign as the Director of Biomaterials & Interbody Marketing from August 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Surgalign, Ali was employed at SeaSpine from September 2017 to August 2020, where they held two positions. First, they served as a Senior Manager of Product and Field Marketing from December 2018 to August 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Product Manager from September 2017 to August 2020.

Earlier in their career, Ali worked at NuVasive from July 2013 to September 2017. During their time there, they held the role of Manager of Biologics Market Development from July 2013 to September 2017. Prior to this, they were a Senior Development Engineer from January 2011 to July 2013.

Starting in June 2008, Ali worked at Skeletal Kinetics as a Mechanical/Process Engineer in R&D. In this role, they supported R&D and manufacturing efforts to improve existing products and develop new bone cements, scaffolds, and delivery devices. ALI implemented new processes to improve production yields and developed innovative bone cement and scaffolds for bone regeneration. Their tenure with Skeletal Kinetics ended in February 2011.

From September 2007 to June 2008, Ali worked as a Material Scientist at Texas Research Institute. Their main project involved creating hydrophilic Carbon Nano-tubes for concrete reinforcement in Army barracks and construction. ALI successfully changed the surface properties of the carbon nano-tubes, enabling their mixture with concrete to improve mechanical properties.

Prior to Texas Research Institute, Ali worked at Calcitec from July 2005 to June 2007 as a Scientist. In this role, they were involved in the development of two products: a Calcium Phosphate-based injectable bone cement for bone void filling and vertebroplasty surgeries, and a resorbable synthetic ceramic bone graft for cervical and lumbar fusion applications. Their responsibilities spanned from research and development to manufacturing.

Lastly, Ali's early career involved working as a Research Engineer at DePuy Orthopaedics from September 2003 to June 2005. ALI conducted research on the oxidation properties of titanium and its alloys in a simulated body fluid. ALI successfully completed the project, published a scientific paper, wrote a thesis, and presented their findings at a conference. ALI also worked on Calcium Phosphate coatings during this time.

Ali Ismailoglu completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science and Engineering from Yildiz Technical University in 2002. From 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Western Michigan University.
