Harley Astin has a diverse and extensive work experience. They began their career as a Front Desk Assistant and Mail Room Assistant at the University of Utah Housing and Residential Education in 2015. They then worked as a Network Operations Center Technician at Blu Transfuels, where they provided technical support to customers and troubleshooted issues with fueling station monitoring systems.
In 2017, Harley became a New Ventures Analyst at the University of Utah, Technology and Venture Commercialization, where they analyzed new business opportunities. They also worked as a Musculoskeletal Research Lab Assistant at the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute at the University of Utah from 2018 to 2021.
In 2021, Harley joined Exactech as a Medical Writer specializing in orthopedic joint replacement devices for extremities. They authored Clinical Evaluation Reports (CERs), Post Market Clinical Follow-up (PMCF) Plans and Reports, and other documentation for recertifying products with government agencies. They also played a crucial role in authoring the company's first CER submitted to the EU under new Medical Device Regulations.
Currently, Harley works at Alphatec Spine as a Medical Writer. They are responsible for developing and creating Clinical Evaluation Reports for regulatory compliance purposes. Their role includes managing projects, conducting scientific literature reviews, and authoring reports for submissions to regulatory bodies around the world.
Throughout their career, Harley has demonstrated strong project management skills and has worked cross-functionally with various teams and departments to complete projects and ensure global regulatory compliance.
