Project Engineer at ATEC Spine

Nathan Smith has a diverse work experience starting in 2015 as a Field Technician at Servpro where they handled water and fire damage, managed multiple job sites, and ensured customer satisfaction. In 2016, they became the Membership Coordinator for the University of San Diego Club Cross Country, where they handled administrative work and enforced attendance policies. In 2017, Nathan served as an Ambassador for the Travis Manion Foundation, and as a Member for The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In the same year, they also became the Changemaker Chair for the Associated Students Budgeting Committee, responsible for discussing and approving funding requests for student-led organizations. In 2018, Nathan took on multiple roles, including Mechanical Engineering Intern at Alphatec Spine, Grader for the Introduction to Thermal Sciences course, and Associated Students Senator for the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering at the University of San Diego, where they represented the school in meetings and hosted office hours. In 2019, they joined Alphatec Spine as a Research and Development Intern, and later became a Design Engineer in 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Design Engineer at Alphatec Spine starting from November 2021. Nathan also served as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the HERO Club, where they raised awareness for student veterans and service members killed in action.

Nathan Smith attended the University of San Diego from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
