Director Of Safety Health And Environmental at ATEC Steel

Gene York CSHO has over 30 years of work experience in safety and environmental management. Gene started their career as a Journeyman Millwright at Millwright L.U. 1529 in 1989 and worked there until 1998. From 1998 to 2000, they served as the Corporate Health and Safety Director at Southwest Millwright Services. Gene then worked as the CCIP Safety Manager at Siemens Dematic from 2000 to 2005, where they supervised a team of safety professionals and managed safety policies for a large project. In 2005, they joined Walton Construction as a Safety Manager before moving on to become the Construction Safety Manager at Kansas City Power & Light in 2006. At Kansas City Power & Light, they managed contractor safety and was responsible for developing and implementing safety regulations and procedures. Since 2012, they have been the Director of Safety Health and Environmental at ATEC Steel, where they have developed and integrated HSE programs and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies.

Gene York CSHO attended the College of Business, Engineering, and Technology at Texas A&M University-Texarkana from 2003 to 2005, where they earned a degree in Construction Safety. Prior to that, they studied Occupational Safety and Health at Trinity University from 2001 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. In 1989, they completed a Millwright Apprenticeship Training program at L.U. 1529, becoming a Journeyman Millwright.
