Kevin Reynaert (Vilvoorde, °1982) grew up in Siegburg (Germany), but lives and works in Hasselt (Belgium) these days. With his creative studio Atelier Petit he works on illustration and graphic design projects. On an irregular basis he also publishes editions under the name Another Papercut.
His interest in design grew from childhood passions such as skateboarding, music and street art. This evolved to his work nowadays, which bounces between fine and applied arts, with an intuitive, direct approach where form, color, lines, shapes, and experiment get the upper-hand. A little formalism with a twist. His work switches between drawing, painting, illustration, graphic design, printing and collage. For his design he focusses on expressing himself and communicating his craft through the needs and moment of each project. Every project pushes to look at alternate situations, and to adapt to better understand and express the processes. That exploration is the joy of working in design.
