Steve Hamel

Steve Hamel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in bioinformatics and data engineering. Currently serving as a Sales Engineer at Athelas since August 2024, Steve previously held the role of Bioinformatics Data Engineer at Enable Medicine, where significant contributions included designing analysis workflows for high-value commercial pilot projects, integrating AI and machine learning to analyze medical datasets, and developing user-friendly software for cloud data synchronization. Prior experience includes positions as an Associate Scientist focusing on optimizing data analysis services and a Computational Scientist at the Icahn School of Medicine, where Steve transformed data-processing pipelines for sequencing analysis. Steve also volunteered as Head of Technology for Corona Connects and served as an Informatics Assistant at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
