Ted Poulsen serves as Vice President of Legal at Athene USA, overseeing all legal aspects of derivative trading and investment governance for affiliated insurance and holding companies since January 2015. Previously, Ted held the position of VP Legal at Athene Asset Management, LLC, managing compliance with Dodd Frank regulations and derivative documentation from October 2013 to January 2015. Ted’s extensive career includes roles as VP & Senior Counsel for Investments at Aviva USA, focusing on Dodd Frank legal matters, and notable positions at Aviva Investors North America as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and Director of Investment Governance. Ted began a legal career with clerkships at the Supreme Court of Iowa and the Supreme Court of Delaware after obtaining a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law and a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business.
