Michael Underwood

Michael Underwood has a diverse work experience in various roles. Michael is currently working as a Senior Product Developer at Athennian. Previously, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Meridian Surveys (M) Sdn Bhd where they upgraded a legacy vessel tracking system and developed mapping and reporting client front-end. Before that, they were a Data Scientist and Co-Founder at Centrality Data Science where they designed and developed websites, APIs, and content. Michael also worked as a Contract Software and Web Developer at Meridian Surveys (M) Sdn Bhd, where they built a client-facing web-based map and assisted in compiling marketing materials. Earlier in their career, Michael worked as a Contract and Software Developer at Meridian Surveys (M) Sdn Bhd and Axtion Systems Corporation, where they created reporting tools and collaborated on projects remotely. Michael also served as a Senior Software Developer at Triangulum Corporation, where they developed applications for tracking data and met with clients from design to installation. Michael started their career as a Database Applications Developer at PRG-Schultz.

Michael Underwood has a diverse and extensive education history. From 2002 to 2006, they attended the University of Calgary and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours in Physics. During this same period, they also pursued Pure Mathematics and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction. Building on their undergraduate studies, from 2006 to 2008, Michael pursued a Master of Science degree in Physics at the University of Calgary. Michael continued their academic journey at the same institution, earning a Ph.D. in Physics from 2008 to 2013.
