Professor Of Computer Science at Athens State University

Adam Lewis serves as a Professor in the Math and Computer Science program at Athens State University since April 2012, fulfilling roles as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and currently Professor of Computer Science. Lewis teaches a wide range of courses, including Concepts of Computer Science, Professional Ethics of Computing, and various specialized subjects in computer science. In addition to academia, Lewis works as a Research Consultant and Contractor for AWLConsulting since August 2004, focusing on the computer industry in the Southeastern United States. Prior experience includes being a Research/Teaching Assistant at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where Lewis lectured and managed projects related to High-Performance Computing, as well as a Senior Engineer/Project Manager at NCR, where contributions were made to the development of point-of-sale products. Lewis holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Theatre/Dramatic Arts from The University of the South.
