Yilmaz Kacar

Yilmaz Kacar, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of process technology engineering and research. Yilmaz worked at ATI - Allegheny Technologies Incorporated as a Principal Process Technology Engineer, where they were responsible for various projects. Prior to that, they served as a Sr. Research Engineer at the same company. Yilmaz also worked at Carnegie Mellon University as a Post-Doc Research Associate. Their earlier experience includes roles at Eregli Iron&Steel Works Co. (Erdemir), where they served as an R&D Manager, R&D Project Manager, Process and Product Development Engineer, and Blast Furnace Operation Engineer. In these positions, Yilmaz was responsible for a wide range of tasks including product development, process improvement, cost reduction, quality control, and problem-solving.

Yilmaz Kacar, PhD has a strong educational background in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. Yilmaz completed their Post Doctoral studies at Carnegie Mellon University from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from Istanbul Technical University between 2003 and 2011. Yilmaz also holds a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering from the same institution, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Yilmaz started their academic journey at Istanbul Technical University, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Metallurgical Engineering from 1992 to 1997. Additionally, Yilmaz completed a Prep. Class in English from Istanbul Technical University in 1991-1992.
