Alison Dowdle possesses a diverse range of experience in animal care, customer service, and administrative roles. Since July 2015, Alison has worked at the Atlanta Humane Society, holding positions as a Low Cost Spay Neuter Vet Assistant and Pet Adoption Counselor, where responsibilities include guiding pet owners and managing financial transactions. Concurrently, Alison serves as a Volunteer at the Atlanta Fulton Public Library and has founded the Atlanta Rehoming Petwork, a Facebook network aimed at assisting pet owners in rehoming their animals. Previous experience includes administrative roles at Quikrete and the Clinic for Rheumatic Diseases, as well as child care at Northport Baptist Church. Alison earned a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from The University of Alabama.

The Atlanta Humane Society is a no-kill shelter providing sheltering and adoption, veterinary care, and community outreach. As one of the oldest charities in Atlanta, we have been caring for our community and her animals for more than 148 years. We believe the relationship between humans and animals has deep significance, and we call on our city and each other to take action. Together we put up a united front against cruelty, neglect, and displacement. With a heart to better lives, we connect homeless animals with good homes and neglected animals with safe spaces—uplifting our community by instilling compassion.
