Lamont Watkins

Lamont Watkins has a diverse work experience in the field of basketball coaching and teaching. Lamont has served as the Head Basketball Coach at Atlanta Jewish Academy since 2017. Prior to that, they were recognized as a Hall of Famer at Salem International University in 2016. Lamont also has experience as a Co-Owner of Team Watkins Store since 2010. Lamont has held various coaching positions, including being the Head Coach for Girls Varsity and Varsity Boys Basketball at The Weber School from 2012 to 2016, Boys Basketball Coach at The Wesleyan School in 2015, and Athletic Director at Grandeur Academy from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, they have an extensive background as a Boys Basketball Coach for the Westchester Hawks AAU program from 2005 to 2011. Lamont has also gained teaching experience as a Certified Teachers Assistant and Substitute Teacher at Mount Vernon City School District from 2009 to 2011. Lamont has further honed their coaching skills as the 1st Assistant Coach for the varsity boys basketball teams at both Horace Greeley High School and Gorton High School. Lamont Watkins's education history includes several degrees and certifications. In 1989, they attended Salem -Teikyo University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting and Business/Management. Lamont completed their studies at the same institution in 1993. During that time, they also attended Salem International University from 1993 to 1994, where they obtained a Master's degree in Education, specializing in Elementary Education and Teaching.

In 2006, Lamont briefly attended the College of New Rochelle, studying Special Education and Teaching for one year. Apart from their academic pursuits, in March 2022, they obtained a Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) certification from Certified Pool Trainers.
