Katrina Shackelford

Katrina Shackelford, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Katrina is currently serving as the Director of HRIS & Certification at Atlanta Public Schools since May 2022. Prior to this, they held leadership positions at NAAAHR - Atlanta Chapter, including President & CEO and Senior Vice President & COO. Katrina was also responsible for operational effectiveness, administration, events, and volunteer resources at NAAAHR.

Before joining Atlanta Public Schools and NAAAHR, Katrina worked as the Human Resource Information System Manager at DeKalb County School District from June 2020 to May 2022. Katrina also served as an HR Records Management Specialist at Atlanta Public Schools from February 2017 to June 2020. Additionally, they gained experience in HRIS data analysis and staffing technician roles at DeKalb County School District from June 2015 to February 2017, and from October 2012 to June 2015, respectively.

Katrina's career started in the financial services industry, where they held positions as an executive assistant, project manager, and office manager at The Georgia Group- An Office of New England Financial from March 2010 to September 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a financial advisor and licensed advisor associate at Waddell & Reed from August 2007 to March 2010.

Katrina began their professional journey as an office manager at the University of West Georgia from August 2004 to June 2007. With their extensive background in HR, leadership, and financial services, Katrina brings a broad skillset and experience to their current role.

Katrina Shackelford, SHRM-CP, holds a Master of Human Resource Management degree from Strayer University, which they obtained from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management with a specialty track in Human Resources from the University of West Georgia between 2000 and 2004. Additionally, Katrina has obtained various certifications including the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM in October 2022.
