Margaret McKenzie

Director, Multilingual Programs & Services at Atlanta Public Schools

Margaret McKenzie currently serves as the Director of Multilingual Programs & Services at Atlanta Public Schools, a position held since July 2013. In this role, Margaret oversees ESOL/Title III, world languages, and dual immersion programs, manages translation and interpretation services, and leads Multilingual Parent Outreach while supervising district-level staff and guiding schools and departments. Prior to this, Margaret was an ESOL Consultant at Cobb County School District from July 2007 to June 2013, where responsibilities included overseeing the ESOL program and providing professional learning and support across various educational levels. Margaret holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Leadership from Mercer University, a Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Leadership with a Technology Concentration from Kennesaw State University, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in German Language Teacher Education from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in East Asian Studies from Vanderbilt University.
