Tanasha Mahone

Tanasha Mahone is an experienced educator and policy specialist with a robust background in leadership and implementation of educational programs. Currently serving as an MTSS/504 Specialist and Elementary Educator at Atlanta Public Schools since July 2017, Tanasha emphasizes Social Emotional Learning principles and utilizes a transdisciplinary approach within the International Baccalaureate framework. As Regional Policy Director with The Urban Leaders Fellowship, Tanasha oversees a cohort of fellows, focusing on leadership development and community outreach. Previously, Tanasha participated as a School Ambassador Fellow with the U.S. Department of Education, where significant projects centered around SEL and post-pandemic wellness were conducted. With a comprehensive history as an Elementary Principal and Assistant Principal in Indianapolis Public Schools, as well as teaching positions and training roles, Tanasha has consistently driven initiatives to enhance student engagement and instructional quality. Tanasha holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Policy Studies and multiple degrees in education and leadership from prestigious institutions.
