Yusuf A. Muhammad

Yusuf A. Muhammad, Jr. serves as the Principal of Carver Comprehensive High School under Atlanta Public Schools since July 2016. Previously, Yusuf held various leadership roles, including School Principal at Purpose Built Schools of Atlanta from July 2018 to July 2022, and Principal, Acting Principal, and Assistant Principal at the NYC Department of Education from July 2012 to July 2016. Yusuf began the educational career as a Social Studies Teacher within the NYC Department of Education from September 2003 to June 2011 after completing a residency as a Principal with New Leaders for New Schools in 2011-2012. Yusuf's educational credentials include a Masters of Professional Studies in Africana Studies from Cornell University, a School Building Leader Certificate from Baruch College, a Master of Science in Education in Reading, and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies and African American Studies from the State University of New York Cortland.
