Deborah Bloom

Deborah Bloom is the current Vice President of Underwriting at Atlantic Coast Mortgage. Prior to their current position, Deborah was the Remote Underwriting Manager at Better.com from March 2020 to October 2020. In this role, they led, coached, and assisted direct report staff in a high volume, team work oriented underwriting environment. Deborah also provided support to production staff regarding underwriting and credit policy matters, ensuring underwriting service levels were achieved and quality continually met investors' and the company's standards. Deborah gave one-on-one continual feedback for staff that included volume monitoring, turn time awareness, up-skilling needs, and strategic goal setting. Additionally, Deborah conducted random spot checks for direct report staff to ensure continued underwriting quality. Deborah worked with the Head of Underwriting to manage team priorities and achieve team goals. Deborah has extensive knowledge in underwriting guidelines and was able to support staff with escalations and complex underwriting scenarios.

Prior to their role at Better.com, Deborah was the Area Underwriting Manager at CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC from July 2016 to March 2020. In this role, they oversaw the daily operations of the underwriting department while providing support and coaching to their team of underwriters. Additionally, Deborah reviewed files for compliance with company guidelines and investor requirements while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Deborah Bloom received their Executive MBA from Colorado State University and their Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Finance from Colorado State University-Global Campus. Deborah is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in DE Certification, by Colorado State University-Global Campus in Finance Concentration, and by VA in SAR/LAPP.
