John Massey

John Massey currently serves as the Director of Public Safety & Emergency Management at Atlantic General Hospital, a position held since December 2017, which follows roles as Emergency Management Coordinator and Public Safety Officer. Since 2018, John has also worked as a Boat Captain at Tipsy Tikis, holding a USCG Licensed Captain 100 ton Near Coastal with Towing endorsement. Previously, John served as a Deputy Sheriff and School Resource Officer with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office from August 2018 to December 2019, and retired from the Maryland Natural Resources Police after nearly three decades, concluding as Captain. While there, John held the role of Assistant Commander of the Special Operations Division from August 2013 to October 2016, overseeing various operations including Criminal Investigations and Tactical Response Team activities. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Salisbury University, obtained between 1980 and 1985.
