Nelson Diaz-Marcano is a Puerto Rican playwright based in New York City with extensive experience in theater and community outreach. Currently serving as Literary Director for the Latinx Playwright Circle and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Atlantic Theater Company, Nelson has also contributed as a freelance writer and entertainment critic. Notable recent achievements include winning a distinguished award at the Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival for the play "Rabiosa." Previous roles encompass Director of New Work at Ophelia Theatre Group, Script Reader for Young Playwrights Inc., and Artistic Director and founder of Strike 38! Productions, where Nelson managed various impactful events and raised significant funds for the arts. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema and Cultural Studies from Stony Brook University.
