Karim Elfar

Karim Elfar is a senior executive in the investment management industry. He currently holds multiple board level positions, as well as serving as strategic advisor to various firms in financial services and technology. His most recent appointment is strategic advisor to Atlantic Financial Partners. Karim was formerly a Managing Director and partner with Thornburg Global Advisors. Prior to joining Thornburg, he was a Managing Director and head of international business for Davis Advisors. From April 1997 through June 2001, he had various roles within the Merrill Lynch organization. These included: banker with Merrill Lynch International Private Client-London and NY, compliance officer with Merrill Lynch International Bank – Miami, treasury associate with Merrill Lynch & Co. Treasury – London, and associate with Merrill Lynch International Private Client – New York. In his various roles, he had a range of responsibilities pertaining to operations, compliance, liquidity management, foreign exchange, money market trading, and portfolio construction. Karim has extensive experience in global markets including Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Australia. He holds a B.Sc. from University of Massachusetts and an M.I.M. from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.
