Steve Mikkelson

Steve Mikkelson has extensive experience in the race and sports industry. Steve is currently working as the Corporate Director of Race and Sports for the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa since March 2022. Prior to this, they were the Owner and Consultant of MikksPikks.com from November 2020 to July 2022.

Before that, Steve held the position of Director of Race and Sports at Rampart Casino from December 2017 to May 2020. In this role, they oversaw daily operations, managed budgets and forecasts, and established department policies and procedures.

Steve also worked at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa as the Race and Sports Manager from March 2009 to December 2017, where they supervised daily operations of the Sports Book and Race Book. Steve had similar responsibilities as the Director of Race and Sports at the Grand Sierra Resort from May 2006 to September 2008.

Additionally, Steve had managerial roles at the Reno Hilton, serving as the Recreation Department Manager from May 2002 to May 2006 and the Race/Sports and Keno Manager from May 1998 to May 2002. Steve also worked as the Manager Operator at Bowlers Depot Pro Shop from April 1998 to June 2002.

Steve Mikkelson began their education in 1983 at San Diego State University, where they studied Accounting and Business/Management. Steve attended the university until 1987. In 1988, they enrolled at Truckee Meadows Community College and pursued a field of study in History until 1992. Simultaneously, from 1989 to 1992, Steve also attended the University of Nevada, Reno, focusing on History Teacher Education.
