Andrew Vekinis

Andrew Vekinis, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Atlas AI, focusing on the development of innovative products for geospatial data analytics. Previously, Andrew held the same position at INTRACOM DEFENSE, where Andrew developed deep learning object tracking systems for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. Andrew's experience includes a role as a Machine Learning Engineer and Industrial Research Fellow at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS," where Andrew was awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Industrial Research Fellowship. Additional expertise was gained through post-doctoral research in machine learning applications in nanotechnology and spacecraft thermal protection systems, as well as a brief tenure as a Visiting Engineer at CERN. Andrew's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Computational Fluid Dynamics from the University of Cambridge and advanced degrees from Imperial College London and King's College London.
