Kumar Utsav

Kumar Utsav is currently a Principal Engineer at Atlassian, having begun this role in 2024. Previously, they served as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Belong.co from 2019 to 2020, where they developed an industrial-strength resume parser using BERT. Their experience also includes a position as Lead Data Scientist at antuit.ai, where they enhanced a recommendation engine and built a model to identify customer churn. Earlier in their career, Kumar worked as a Data Scientist at Mu Sigma Inc., creating statistical models for a pharmaceutical company, and held roles at Freshworks focused on deploying and maintaining NLP systems. Kumar earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Vellore Institute of Technology between 2008 and 2012.
